Dr. Cole is an Associate Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at UNC/NC State and also Affiliated Faculty in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at UNC. She received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Michigan in Chemistry and Orthopaedic Surgery before coming to UNC/NC State in Fall 2013. She is strongly committed to K-12 STEM outreach, most notably directing the National Biomechanics Day effort at NC State since it started in 2016, and our lab participates in many local outreach endeavors.

Outside the lab she enjoys spending time with her family (husband, Naji Husseini, and son, Theo), running, reading, baking, and watching Auburn football (War Eagle!).
