Kyla is working on a rat model of the Brachial Plexus Birth Injury to assess deformity development and progression of the shoulder. This involves understanding alterations to functional limb usage through gait, grip strength, and spontaneous movement as well as assessing bone microstructure and muscle morphologic changes throughout skeletal development.

In her free time, Kyla enjoys reading science fiction, true crime, and historical science non-fiction, cooking, trying new restaurants, painting, spending time with her friends and pets and enjoying the outdoors.
